Italy 2022

October 7, 2022

My dad wanted to take Mallory on a big trip this year and because she happened to be eating pasta when he called and asked her about where she wanted to go, Italy it was. Here is the story, as told by my dad. Enjoy.

Mallory, Stella, and I (Mike) were delivered to the airport by Stella’s mother, Tansy, in her fancy Land Rover.  (My first time ever in a Rover!)

The flight to JFK Airport took about two-and-a-half hours. Thanks to Mallory, grampa didn’t lead the group to the wrong gate.  Mal figured out we had …

1,564

February 1, 2018

1,564. That’s how many posts are on this blog. I’m guessing about 1,550 of them are from 2006-2012, and then nothing the past five-ish years. My February 1 goal is to post here at least once a week.
I’m home today because Carson had a doctor’s appointment today so I just took the whole day off. I’m comfy on the couch with the dogs snoozing at my feet and I’ve played around on here for all morning.
So I’m going to work on posts 1565 and 1566 to give an update on each kid.
Hold please.

Once upon a time…

November 17, 2016

Carson brought home a large folder of writing assignments this past week. I transcribed each page in case you can’t read 7-year old boy spelling/handwriting – I’ve only corrected misspellings for your benefit but be sure to read his actual writing.

Once upon a time there was a buckeye and it had 3 little buckeyes. Then the buckeye sent the three little buckeyes out to make a house of their own. So they were off.
The first little buckeye made his house out of Spartans. Soon a big bad Wolverine came by and said “little buckeye, little buckeye, let me in.” …

Seriously?

September 20, 2013

I seriously last blogged here over two months ago? Argh!
Must
Fix
ASAP
We went in two vacations, Mallory lost her 6th tooth, football and school started. I am such a slacker. But the problem is that I am now addicted to crocheting so I hardly pull the computer out anymore. My poor deprived kids no longer have their every antic recorded here. I’ll try to fix that.

Fine

September 3, 2012

I totally got a “fine” with a huge sigh from Carson today.
I asked for a kiss before he went downstairs and he kept telling me no. So I said he better or else he couldn’t have ice cream for dessert.
That’s when he gave me a big sigh and said “FINE”.
But I got my kiss.

I know

August 19, 2012

The kids are watching a show we just discovered (thanks to my awesome neighbor) called “Super Why”. There are four characters and they fly around reading.
Carson is watching it for the first time this morning and Mallory just joined him. He said “The princess one is you, Mallory!”
Mallory said very matter-of-factly: “I know.”

Carson’s comment really sounded like this though: “The pwinceth one is you, Mae-woe-wee!”

Password

September 28, 2011

If you are here via the feedburner daily emails and the links weren’t working for the passworded posts, it should be fixed now (I changed the password but didn’t update that info on the feed…). Let me know if you still can’t view the passworded posts. You won’t be able to click the links on previous emails but once you are in, you should be able to see all the passworded posts. Let me know if they don’t.

..And she’s home

September 6, 2011

She certainly doesn’t look too traumatized from her first day of kindergarten.

She was happy and skipping all the way home from the bus stop and we couldn’t really get Mallory to tell us much about her day until I promised her she could have a cookie if she fessed up.
They went outside, had a snack & drank milk, sang a song, read a book, and she made some new friends but can’t remember their names.
And then I finally got my hug and kiss.

Garage Sales

June 25, 2011

We are having a garage sale today. The morning started out slow. Like REALLY slow. Like we only sold one item in the first hour-ish we were open. I was severely second-guessing our decision to participate in a neighborhood garage sale, when I had other productive things to do, like go to Target.
But I did get my computer out and have gotten sort of caught up on some photography business related blogging. And then I remembered I had a webcam.

Looks like I’ll still get to go to Target – yippee!!!!!
