Mallory, travel

Well, hellllooooooo

Hey there.

It’s been awhile.

I think the longest blogging absence since I started this blog. Maybe it ties the longest absence. But anyway. It’s been a long time, and I feel TERRIBLE about it.

So – I’m going to give you a couple of Mallory gems to get us started, and then I’ll get you caught up on our doings.

  • At dinner one night, Rick asked Mallory to do something (probably along the lines of “sit on your bottom” or “use your fork” or “stop bothering your brother during dinner”), and Mallory followed direction immediately, which is always a bonus. But the best part is when she looked at me and said “MOMMY! I did what my daddy asked me to do the FIRST TIME!” Sweet.
  • As some of you know, we just went to Disney for Rick’s triathlon (he rocked it). And we are in the process of moving (we moved out of our lake house [don’t we sound all rich & famous…because we have a lake house?] which we rented, and are making a temporary stop at my dad’s, and hope to be in a new house next month…). So we’ve been letting Mallory crash in our bed more than normal. Oh – I need to let you know that I lined up breakfast with the princesses in Cinderella’s castle, and had been talking it up big time. So right before we headed south, I told Mallory that when we got to “Flordida”, she’d be allowed to sleep in our bed every night. Sweet girl looked up and said “because the princess with the blue dress (Cinderella) only has a crib and one bed?”, because she thought we were actually sleeping in the castle.
  • As we were talking about taking an airplane ride to Florida, Mallory said that when we got on the airplane, she was going to tell the captain that we are going to “Floridida”. I guess maybe because otherwise the captain wouldn’t know? But when we got on the plane for Florida, she wouldn’t even tell the flight attendants where we were going.

And to recap our lives:

  • We are moving from the lake. It’s so very sad to be leaving our first house – the house we got engaged in, got married in, brought both kids home to, etc. So many fun and good memories. But the good thing is that we are just renting it out so we have the option of going back if we win the lotto or something.
  • We are living with my dad for the time being. Not ideal, but it works. The only reason it’s not ideal is that we are living out of boxes. Mallory is loving having her cousins nearby to play with all the time!
  • We found a new house but the sellers need to find a new house before we can buy their house. We gave them a 15-day deadline to find a new house, which they weren’t excited about, but we need to keep moving on, literally.
  • My photography business is still keeping me busy. A blessing and a curse, sometimes. It’s just hard right now to try to keep focused when our whole lives are so upside-down.
  • Disney last week was FABULOUS. It will be recapped in a whole post (or series of posts) but it was SO.MUCH.FUN.
  • Michigan softball is rocking the house, big time. It seems like they mercy every team they play. Would be awesome to see them go all the way again!

And that is all I can do tonight. G’night.
