Alphabitty, Mallory

Head start on next week’s Alphabitty Entry

September 4, 2009

I might have to make my buddy Mike be a guest blogger on my blog if he’s going to contribute gems like this.
Here is email I got this morning. If you are new to this blog – check the bottom-ish section of this post for the background…

A is for…Alphabitty

September 3, 2009

I found the “Alphabitty” idea on 4 Love of Family a while back, but she was in the middle of the alphabet so I sort of tucked the idea away on my “that would be fun…I’ll keep it in mind for a scrapbook idea in the future” list
However, my to-do list is getting longer, not shorter, so this idea sort of fell off the list, until I saw today that MamaBear is starting over with A ~ just the kick in the tush I needed :-)
I can’t promise that my pages will be anything superfantastic or win any awards, but …

But I’m NOT grumpy!

September 3, 2009

I got to get Mallory dressed this morning – I went into her room and softly woke her up.
Her first words were “Can I wear a bress today?” I asked if she’d been a good enough girl to be able to wear a dress and she nodded her head.
She had to wear the spinniest dress in her collection (as expected after a 10-day hiatus) and asked if Lauren was going to wear a dress at school today too. Mallory was so agreeable that she let me comb her hair and put a barrette in it. And she brushed …

Spinny Bresses

September 2, 2009

My little girl is IN LOVE with wearing dresses, or “bresses” as she calls them.
Her cousin Lauren is also in love with wearing dresses and usually wears one every single day. And when she outgrows a dress, she passes is on to Mallory. So Mallory says “I want to wear the bress that LAUREN bought me”.

Mallory likes to rate her “bresses” by how well they spin, and won’t wear one if it’s not spinny enough (“but that isn’t a SPINNY BRESS!” and “but that BRESS doesn’t SPIN!”). However, sometimes she will accept a dress if it is a good …

Rollin, rollin, rollin

September 1, 2009

Mom of the Year that I am – I left Carson on the living room floor while I went to take pictures of Mallory & her spinny bress (another post will be coming about that). Notice that he isn’t where I left him.

He gets where he gets by rolling and spinning on his tummy. He isn’t crawling. Yet.
Editor’s Note: I know the photo is not clear, but I snapped the picture quick so I could rescue my sweet boy from the hard kitchen floor…

Finger Lickin’ Good

September 1, 2009

We are continuing with Carson’s introduction to the world of non-boob-food. So far he’s had rice cereal and just this week we started oatmeal. I got some Stage 1 fruits but decided we’ll wait until closer to 6-mos to start those.
He took after his big sister with regard to eating the cereal. I remember it took Mallory all of three days to realize that the cereal is good stuff. Carson loves it so much that he uses his hands to help rake the spoon into his mouth and then he gets sticky cereal all over his hands and face (and …

Similar…but different

September 1, 2009

Man, did Mallory have big round cheeks and face back at ~3mos, especially compared to Carson!
And that straight dark hair…who knew what a curly girl she’d turn into!

Chipmunk Cheeks

September 1, 2009

This week’s theme is “baby pics” and I think I share enough photos of my kids here on this blog so I wanted to share one of my baby/toddler photos.
My favorite thing about this picture is that the can next to me is probably my dad’s Schlitz.
So this is me at about 2-ish I think. I won’t tell you the year ;-)
