Mallory

All-Star

Mal-Star has become a big fan of playing softball. She played on a travel team this past fall/winter/spring, and then did Little League in the spring, and then last month she and 12 of her softball buddies were selected for the “all-star” team to represent Dexter Little League at Districts next weekend.

She fancies herself a pitcher but with that little issue with her knee in the winter, she got behind with pitching lessons and stuff so we just started those back up. Pitching lessons are good because she was trying to pitch like the Michigan softball pitchers which doesn’t really work when you are just learning and only 9.

So she started lessons up again a couple weeks ago and has been awesome about practicing (she wasn’t awesome about practicing before). Her pitching coach was impressed at Mallory’s improvement after just one week so I’m excited to see how she looks for her at tomorrow’s lesson.

In the interest of just trying to take pictures of real life around home, I pulled the ole camera out and snapped some of her throwing to Rick the other day. She must be getting ready for Michigan to make the switch to Jumpman, what with her tongue hanging out like it is.

We’ve had a busy month-plus of softball and baseball during the week, and softball tournaments on the weekend. Mallory has one more pre-district tournament this coming weekend, and then districts start July 15.

They have the coolest looking uniforms and I can’t wait to see them in their white pants and jerseys with names on the back. I can’t wait. I will probably take pictures of that too. Stay tuned. And Go Team.
