Father’s Day Weekend

IMG_8299We had Alli & her folks out to play on Saturday night – mostly it was to let the girls go crazy and let off some steam. I am happy to report that with our new paver patio (pictures are coming, I promise!), the bugs don’t seem to be as bad, at least on the patio part. We still have the candles and the zapper going, and even with bugspray on, Mallory still gets a couple of bites every time we go outside. I don’t want to scare her with my “you’re going to get bug bites!” warnings to the point that she won’t go outside, but I’d like to avoid another round of cellulitis (and with it, admonishments from my mother that clearly I didn’t put enough bugspray on Mallory and while you’re at it bug bomb her room again…).

Rick had to work on Father’s Day (of course, just like every other year). So my mom, dad, sister, stepsister & I went to go see Grease! on stage. I’m not a good movie-goer – I don’t enjoy sitting still for that long so I was a little nervous how I was going to do at the play but it was pretty fun. Only snafu was when I pulled out my pump to take care of business before we walked into the theatre…only to find out I didn’t bring some of the parts with me. We loaded back up in the car to see if the local CVS has the parts I needed – they didn’t…so we’ll just leave it at that.

I drove us all there & back, while the other four played euchre in the back of the van. I offered to drive because my dad is an aggressive driver – he’s safe, but he’d rather go down a street with stop signs on every corner than sit at a stoplight for three minutes. As soon as we pulled out of my mom’s house, headed for downtown and my sister said “oh this is better already” and when my dad said he wasn’t that bad of a driver, I started to drive like him, and then he told me to quit being an a$$hole. LOL.

One of the daycare girls watched all five kids (Emily’s husband had to work too) and they had a great time. She actually had Lauren, Mallory & Liam all napping at the same time!

After the show we had dinner at my sister’s ~ I was able to get a great pictures of the kids (see the other Father’s Day post below) and some other ones that you can find here. I have some more pictures to add to that gallery but it will be a few days. My house is a disaster and I need to spend some time on it.

Peace out.
